A workshop for scientists, engineers, and healthcare professionals on effective committee testimony navigation, communication, and participation as a subject matter expert.

Join us for an engaging panel discussion and workshop on how your expertise can contribute to the evidence-based policymaking during the New Jersey State legislators’ bill discussion and committee meeting processes.


You will learn how to:
Search and track bills that matter to you: Learn effective strategies on how to identify the right time to offer expertise from government affairs experts
Analyze issue environment and form alliances: Insights from a seasoned lobbyist on navigating the topic landscape and amplifying your voice
Communicate effectively: Tips on best practices when communicating with policymakers
Deliver your message with impact: Advice and perspectives from legislative staff and Rutgers scientists on what works in testimonies


Panel will be followed by small-group expert-led discussions with tips on drafting and submitting a compelling written testimony
