Applications for the Undergraduate Associate Program must be submitted by Monday, October 21st at 5:00PM, including two letters of recommendation (emailed directly to undergrad@eagleton.rutgers.edu from the recommender). Don't miss out on this enriching three-semester interdisciplinary certificate program that includes:

  • building knowledge, skills, and networks in politics, government, and community engagement,
  • earning nine credits with three unique courses about political power and decision-making,
  • gaining experience through public service internships and education sessions at the State House,
  • and developing leadership and professional skills in program sessions.

Applications Now Open for Spring 2025
RU Ready Internship

The Center for Youth Political Participation (CYPP) is recruiting a team of interns to support the RU Ready program's implementation of RU Ready Civics Fairs and Young Leaders Conference for area high school and middle school students. Interns will support CYPP staff in designing and organizing Civics Fairs and Conferences in area public schools. This paid internship position begins the week of January 6, 2025, until mid-May 2025.

New Data from CAWP's Women, Money, & Politics Watch 2024 Project

Men are outgiving women in 2024 political donations, according to new analysis from the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP), a unit of the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University. As CAWP has previously reported, men are giving the majority of funds contributed to congressional candidates, but this new analysis brings in additional data from party-wide digital fundraising platforms ActBlue (for Democrats) and WinRed (for Republicans).

Eagleton Science and Politics Program Announces Science Fellowship Class of 2025

The Eagleton Science and Politics Program has proudly announced the eight Eagleton Science Fellows making a difference in New Jersey for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Science Fellows will serve as full-time science advisors in New Jersey state government, aiding in the development and implementation of state policy for issues ranging from clean energy to protecting children and families over the next year.

CEO of The American Sunlight Project and NPR Journalist Discuss Disinformation in Media

On Wednesday evening, disinformation expert and CEO of The American Sunlight Project, Nina Jankowicz sat down with NPR Journalist and Host of Morning Edition, Michel Martin for a conversation about the threats and challenges of disinformation in media. The discussion explored the effects disinformation has had on social media users, on political information and discourse, as well as the safety and freedom to disseminate factual information and to call out or correct disinformation.

The discussion will be available for public viewing on our website and YouTube on Monday, October 21st.

Jessica Ronan-Frisch, associate director of the Center for Youth Political Participation at the Eagleton Institute of Politics, said she supports S3240/A4369.

"I think the bill is a good idea in school board elections, particularly, because we often think of schools as small microcosms of democracy," Ronan-Frisch said. "It's a great way for young adults to be able to take a first step in actually being able to choose and to do a little bit of research on who's representing them in their school."
