From a political perspective, Kristoffer Shields, director of the Eagleton Center on the American Governor said, investing in crypto could worry voters about losing money on risky bets. He believes, however, that associating with crypto also provides politicians to grab on to a rare issue that cuts across party lines.
“Most constituents haven’t thought too much about it or don’t care about it,” he said. “But the ones who do care care a lot.”

Jean Sinzdak, associate director at the Center for American Women and Politics, said the pushback, in part, is cultural: many of the leaders of institutions like congress are older men who are not concerned about the trials of young parents and families.
"It doesn't behove the leaders of these institutions to change this process because it's not affecting them directly," Ms Sinzdak told the BBC.
