Eagleton in the News

NJ Spotlight News | Rush is on to run for Sherrill’s congressional seat

“Of course there’s going to be a ton of buzz about it given that this is the governor-elect’s former district,” notes Eagleton Poll Director Ashley Koning. “And we know this is a district she flipped back in 2018. So, there’s a good media narrative behind it.”

San Francisco Chronicle | California was poised to make a historic governor pick in 2026. What happened?

"Gender and race are part of the story, but they're not the whole story," said Kelly Dittmar, director of research at the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University. "It's hard to say that they don't matter, if we start looking at how candidates are set up for success. Do they have access to wealth, access to big donors, the ability to self-fund? (Then there is) voters' perceptions of their ability to lead - all of those things are still gendered and racialized in our culture, even, including in California."
