RU Running Political Campaign Training

Don't miss the Center for Youth Political Participation and GenZ for New Jersey on March 25 for an interactive political campaigning workshop for young adults interested in running for office. The event will feature breakout rooms with NJ-based campaign experts on fundraising, campaign communications, and creating a successful campaign strategy. Plus, a networking reception with young elected leaders and representatives of various political campaigns in Middlesex County will be held following the workshop. Open to current Rutgers University undergraduate and graduate students only.

With the first primary elections of the 2026 midterms just two weeks away, the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) shares resources for covering women in this year’s elections and understanding their place in American politics. The Eagleton Science and Politics Program (ESPP) team attended the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Annual Meeting in Phoenix, AZ, last week. ESPP Program Coordinator, Shannon Erwin (photographed on right), attended the session, State-Level Science Policy: A Conversation with Expert Practitioners, moderated by Rebecca Aicher, project director of the AAAS Center for Scientific Evidence in Public Issues (photographed on left), which included speakers New Jersey State Senator Andrew Zwicker (D-N.J.) (photographed middle) and Speaker Roger Hanshaw (R-W.Va.).

As director of the Eagleton Center for Public Interest Polling at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, many of her days are spent on camera, deciphering for the media the opinions of a deeply divided electorate.

But for much of her life, Koning has been equally enamored with a different kind of stage – one where curtains rise, orchestras swell and ovations linger. Here, when Koning isn’t talking politics, she might be singing about them.
