Survey NJ Parents and Guardians with Rutgers-Eagleton Poll

It's not common to have data on New Jersey parents. The Eagleton Center for Public Interest Polling at Rutgers University is changing that with a rigorous, independent, statewide study of parents, guardians, and family decisionmakers across the Garden State — the New Jersey Parent Pulse. For organizations that need credible, independent data on NJ families, this is the opportunity. Question slots are limited and filling fast. For more information, contact Ashley Koning at akoning@rutgers.edu or (848) 932-8940.

CAWP: What Will the 2026 Election Mean for Women’s Gubernatorial Representation?

There are 36 gubernatorial contests in 2026. Half (18) of those contests will be for open seats due to term limits or retirements of the incumbent officeholders. Of the record 14 (10D, 4R) women governors currently serving, 6 (4D, 2R) are leaving office this year. With 43% of the current women governors departing office, maintaining or surpassing women’s gubernatorial representation will rely heavily on the success of non-incumbent women gubernatorial candidates.

NJ.com | How Trump’s AI posts are transforming politics

“The American people bear some responsibility for this, certainly Trump supporters do, in that we have ceased demanding — many of us have — the seriousness and response to serious questions, and have devolved into this kind of WrestleMania view of the world,” [said Saladin Ambar, a political science professor at Rutgers University and senior scholar at the Eagleton Center on the American Governor.]

Rutgers Today | At Rutgers, Students Are Learning About Democracy in a Lab

Nicholas V. Longo, the inaugural director of the Rutgers Democracy Lab, insists democracy is something you learn by doing – not just in a classroom or at the ballot box, but in the everyday work of navigating challenges, listening to others and finding common ground.

His approach comes at a time when colleges and universities are rethinking how to prepare students to engage in civic life in an increasingly polarized world.
