Don't miss the 2024 New Jersey History Conference on December 3, 2024, at the Douglass Student Center. Learn how New Jerseyans navigated political tensions throughout history, what we can do to support a stronger democracy today, and more.
The event will begin with a welcome and opening remarks from Governor Phil Murphy. Following, keynote speaker and Eagleton's Director, Dr. Elizabeth C. Matto will share how all of us can become more engaged in the democratic process.
After the keynote, panel sessions will share new research on the history of:
- Civic participation in New Jersey's AAPI communities
- Student-led activism
- 19th century African American journalists and activists
- Women's participation in New Jersey politics
- Environmental protection legislation
- Power, ethics, and politics
- The legacy of the American Revolution in the 20th century
There will also be a panel on how to publish in New Jersey and a series of 5-minute lightning session presentations.
Regular tickets are on sale now for $75. Student tickets are available for $5 with a valid student I.D.
Tickets include entrance to the conference as well as a continental breakfast and a buffet lunch from 1911 Smoke House.
